CHILD SAFETY & AGE GATE POLICY

PURPOSE & SCOPE
This Policy sets out how THRYL protects children and teens on our website, App, events, streams, and community features. It applies to Users, Creators/Influencers/Esports athletes, Brands/UA partners, Developers/Publishers, and Tournament Organisers using THRYL.
DEFINITIONS
Child/Minor: A person under 18 years of age.
Under‑13: Users 12 and below — not permitted on THRYL.
Teen: Users 13–17 — limited access with verified parent/guardian consent.
Parent/Guardian: A person with legal responsibility for the Teen.
Age Gate: The processes used to determine age and apply feature restrictions.
High‑Risk Features: DMs/voice with strangers, link posting, external invites, off‑platform redirects, cash withdrawals, Offerwall with paid flows.
AGE GATE & ACCESS LEVELS
3.1 Under‑13 — Not Permitted. We do not knowingly collect or process data from under‑13s. Accounts identified as under‑13 are disabled and data deleted per Privacy Policy.
3.2 Teens 13–17 — Limited Access (Consent Required). Teens may access age‑appropriate gaming and community features only after parent/guardian consent verification (Section 4). No withdrawals or cash prizes for Teens; Tokens/Gems may be earned but Tokens are non‑withdrawable and Gems are non‑cash.
3.3 Adults 18+ — Full Access. KYC is required for cash withdrawals/competitive prize payouts.
3.4 Geo/Local Rules. THRYL may apply additional regional age rules and feature restrictions.
PARENT/GUARDIAN CONSENT (13–17)
4.1 Verification Methods (one or more):
Email or SMS one‑time‑passcode to a parent/guardian.
Consent form with government ID (masked where possible) and relationship attestation.
Small test transaction/OTP to parent’s payment instrument (where lawful).
In‑person/on‑ground event consent capture.
4.2 What Consent Covers: account creation, limited social features, participation in free esports events, viewing age‑appropriate content, and receiving service updates.
4.3 Withdraw/Modify Consent: Parents may revoke or change permissions at any time via resident.grievance@thryl.io or in‑app controls; we will act within the timelines in the Privacy Policy.
4.4 Parent Tools: request account summary, pause/limit sessions, block DMs/voice, review recent contacts, and request deletion of Teen’s account.
FEATURE RESTRICTIONS FOR TEENS (13–17)
Direct Messages (DMs): Off by default with unknown adults; only mutual friends/teammates allowed.
Voice Chat: Off by default in open lobbies; enabled only for team parties or moderated rooms.
Links & Invites: No public posting of external links; no link‑shorteners.
Profiles & Avatars: Strict filters; no NSFW, hate, impersonation, or contact info.
Streams & UGC: Uploading/streaming requires consent; chat is moderated and may be throttled or keyword‑filtered.
Offerwall: Access to free offers only; no paid flows; no RMG tasks. Rewards labelled Gems by default.
Prizes/Withdrawals: Teens cannot withdraw cash or Tokens. Event prizes, if any, are non‑cash (e.g., Gems/coupons) or delivered to parent/guardian subject to law and verification.
Targeted Ads: No interest‑based advertising to Teens; only contextual ads that pass brand‑safety checks.
Late‑Night Use: Optional curfews and break reminders; default daily time limits may apply.
PROHIBITED CONTENT & CONDUCT (ZERO‑TOLERANCE)
CSAM, grooming, sexualisation of minors.
RMG: gambling, betting, fantasy contests; tips/affiliates/funnels.
Hate/extremism, threats, doxxing, serious harassment.
Explicit sexual content, non‑contextual gore/violence.
Scams/fraud, identity theft, unsafe challenges.
Violations trigger immediate removal, suspension/ban, and reporting to authorities where required.
MODERATION, SAFETY & ESCALATION
7.1 Proactive Protections: AI‑assisted filters, profanity/keyword blocks, link scanning, image safety checks, device/behavioural risk signals.
7.2 Human Review: Trained moderators review reports; live events may have real‑time moderation and stream delays.
7.3 Reporting Tools: Easy in‑app reporting for users and parents; emergency category for imminent harm.
7.4 Escalation to Authorities: We cooperate with lawful requests and escalate imminent risk of harm to appropriate authorities, consistent with law and Privacy Policy.
7.5 Transparency: We may publish periodic safety notes (volumetrics, response times) without personal data.
DATA MINIMISATION & PRIVACY FOR MINORS
Minimal Collection: We collect only what’s necessary for safety, gameplay, and legal compliance.
Sensitive Signals: No precise geolocation, contacts, or device sensors for Teens unless strictly necessary and consented.
Parental Rights: Access, correction, and deletion rights available to parents/guardians.
Storage & Security: Strong encryption, access controls, anti‑abuse monitoring; see Privacy Policy for details.
ESPORTS & EVENTS (FREE & SKILL‑BASED)
No Entry/Participation Fees by THRYL. Events are free to enter on THRYL.
Skill‑Based: No wagering; outcomes depend on skill and rules.
Age Brackets: Separate Teen brackets where applicable; adult‑only brackets enforce 18+.
Prizes: Teen brackets: non‑cash awards (e.g., Gems/coupons/merch). Adult brackets: cash prizes subject to KYC and taxes.
Verification: We may require ID checks for eligibility and integrity.
CREATORS/INFLUENCERS/ESPORTS TALENT
No outreach to minors in DMs for non‑moderation reasons.
Disclose sponsorships (#ad) and avoid age‑inappropriate brand categories.
No RMG promotions on THRYL surfaces.
Event Conduct: Professional standards; violations may lead to demonetisation, removal, or bans.
DEVELOPERS & PUBLISHERS
Build age‑appropriate experiences and respect our Age Gate signals.
Do not pass unnecessary personal data; comply with the Developer & Publisher Terms and any DPA.
No RMG tasks or off‑platform redirects aimed at minors.
Implement parental controls where your Game hosts social features.
ENFORCEMENT & APPEALS
- Notice/Warning → Feature Restrictions → Temporary Suspension → Permanent Ban.
TRAINING & ACCOUNTABILITY
- Safety training for moderators, event staff, and creators in official programs.
- Internal audits of response times and action accuracy.
- Vendor/partner contracts include child‑safety obligations.
